The Grand Chord is located on one of the busiest streets in Brooklyn.
The building recesses from the street wall with an unexpected shift on
the street level in order to create a public space. The arcade formed
by the large arched openings creates a grand entrance to the building.
Composed of arched windows, The Grand Chord takes proportions from the historic context of the neighborhood. Larger arched openings break up the otherwise homogenous pattern and define terraces. Clad with limestone facade panels and dark bronze frames, the building gives the sensation of luxury and openness.
